The scope of the academic exchange

At the beginning of October new students of the Erasmus programme and the 'free mover' path were welcomed at the Rzeszów University of Technology.  It is an exceptional semester since for the first time in the 25-year history of the university we are hosting such a large number of exchange students. 72 students from Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Turkey, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Lithuania and Mexico started one semester, some two semester studies at the Rzeszów University of Technology.

International event

The meeting was opened by prof. Grzegorz Ostasz, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, together with prof. Jarosław Sęp, Vice-Rector for Development and Business Cooperation wishing everyone a successful event.

International students put up loads of effort to prepare their stands. Together within the groups they prepared delicious dishes from the regions of the countries they come from. You could try Uzbek plow, Kazakh kurut cheese balls, Turkish mercimek köftesi and ajran, Portuguese coconut cookies, or Mexican tortillas with guacamole. All the dishes looked delicious and disappeared from the tables in the blink of an eye.

Students from Vietnam also joined the event presenting culture and regional cuisine, the IASTE office was there as well promoting internships around the world, as well as Erasmus programme’s graduates who returned from an exchange to the Spanish university Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.

Information point

Students could learn more about the rules of mobility under the Erasmus programme from employees of the Department for International Cooperation, who provided detailed information at the Erasmus Info Point regarding the selection of subjects, organization of the stay and the amount of the provided financial support to outgoing students.

The stands were visited by PRz employees and students, foreign students studying at other Rzeszów universities, and residents of Rzeszów who wanted to feel the atmosphere of being in an international environment. This cyclical event aims to promote the program among RUT students and integrate international students into the academic and local environment.

The employees of the Department for International Cooperation would like to thank everyone for attendance. A special thanks goes to the international students for their involvement in preparing stands.
