Vitalii Morskyi, a third-year student of engineering and data analysis at the Faculty of Mathematics and Applied Physics of the Rzeszów University of Technology, became the winner of the Interstudent 2023 competition for the best foreign student in Poland in the category of undergraduate studies. The jury of the competition appreciated the student's very good academic results, activity in the academic environment and social activity, including helping refugees from Ukraine.
A word from the winner
Vitalii Morskyi emphasizes that this is one of the most prestigious awards he has received. - I am filled with three emotions right now: joy, gratitude and faith. The joy of this being one of the greatest rewards of my life. I am most grateful to my Alma Mater - the Rzeszów University of Technology - a great university where real specialists work, who really care about the development of students. I believe that this great friendship, which was established between Ukraine and Poland in this difficult time for my homeland, will never expire, and will be the main factor of mutual support and joint development of our countries - said V. Morskyi.
Student's activity
Vitalii Morskyi received the Rector's scholarship for very good academic results in 2021 and 2022. From the first semester of studies, he has been a committed member of the student Scientific Association "Machine Learning" (KNML). He actively promotes the university by taking part in numerous of national and international conferences, seminars and competitions, winning awards. Vitalii Morskyi is involved in the "Erasmus Buddy" project, supporting students from the Program in integrating with the academic environment. He was also involved in helping refugees from Ukraine. For many weeks he assisted as a Ukrainian language interpreter and helped war refugees from Ukraine at the Hospital in Rzeszów. He was a volunteer at the Help Center for Ukraine, which was established at the RUT, he also supervised the collection of donations and their transport to Ukraine.
About the contest
The INTERSTUDENT competition is organized by the Perspektywy Education Foundation as part of the "Study in Poland" program (www.studyinpoland.pl), implemented jointly with the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP), for thirteen years it has been used to select the best foreign students studying at Polish universities. The winners are selected from among foreigners studying in Polish or a foreign language, at each stage of education.
Nomination and result of the competition
The nomination for the award was submitted by the Department of International Cooperation. The announcement of the results of the competition took place during the conference "Foreign Students in Poland 2023", hosted by the Medical University of Bialystok.
