On 29th and 30th September, prof. María Jesús Lamela Rey and prof. Juan Carlos Viera Pérez from the University of Oviedo, Spain visited the Rzeszów University of Technology under the Erasmus programme. The faculty coordinators for the academic exchange met with the programme coordinators at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, prof. Andrzej Dzierwa, and the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Paweł Dymora, PhD. They also visited the laboratories there. During the meetings with faculty staff expanding cooperation over research was discussed as well as the idea of the university to participate in other Erasmus actions available to higher education institutions was developed.
During the meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics Mr Adam Marciniec PhD, DSc, Eng., formal issues related to student exchanges were discussed. The Spanish coordinators also met with their students, who has just begun academic exchanges at the Rzeszów University of Technology this semester. The visit concluded with a meeting with the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Student Affairs - Bartosz Miller, PhD, DSc, Eng., Associate Prof., summarizing the two-day programme of meetings and consultations.
The University of Oviedo is one of the first universities with which the Rzeszów University of Technology has established cooperation under the Erasmus programme in 1998.
