The Baltic University Programme’s coordinating secretariat at Uppsala University and the Slovak University of Agriculture can proudly present the BUP’s annual student conference in 2022. This year, we are focusing on the topic of Resilient food systems from a Baltic Sea Region perspective.
In times of climate change and other crises, the importance of resilient and sustainable food systems is increasingly significant. During our four days conferences on the island of Gotland, you as a student will get a unique experience learning from regional experts and local food producers.
The conference is free of charge and applications are open for students studying a bachelor's and master's levels at Baltic University Programme’s participating universities.

Accepted students will spend two full days on the island of Gotland, located in the middle of the Baltic Sea. During these days, students will take part in lectures, workshops, and discussions with experts from academia, civil society, and local food producers. Participants will also get the opportunity to visit the organic farm Lilla Bjers as well as take part in a guided tour of the Medieval Hanseatic city of Visby, which is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.
