2024 Application Guide for Student Exchange Programs

➭Eligibility
- a) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports.
- b) The home university of Applicant should have signed student exchange agreements (still valid) with HUST.
- c) Applicant should be recommended by the home university and in the nomination list before application.
➭Duration
The study duration for student exchange programs should be in accordance with the nomination letter issued by the home university and the signed student exchange agreements.
➭Application and Admission Procedures
Application closing date:
December 20, 2023 (2024 Spring Intake)
June 15, 2024 (2024 Autumn Intake)
Step 1.
Log in to the online application system at http://admission.hust.edu.cn/.
Step 2.
Choose a program, upload the required documents, and submit your application.
Note:
The documents uploaded should be clear, complete, true, and valid. Incomplete or false applications will be rejected.
Please check the status of your admission process and the admission package tracking number through the International Students Application System or emails.

1.Nomination Letter issued by the home university
2.Academic Certificate
Official document of enrollment issued by the current school.
3.Transcripts
4.CV
Including educational background, work experience, and publication list if available.
5.Study Plan/Research Proposal
Not required for the applicants for the Chinese Language Program.
6.Language Proficiency Certificate
- English Medium:
-TOEFL 80 or above;
-IELTS 6.0 or above;
-Other certificates of the same proficiency level which are accepted by HUST;
-Or the previous degree education was instructed in English.
- Chinese Medium:
-HSK 4 score 180 or above for programs of Science, Engineering and Medicine;
-HSK 5 score 180 or above for programs of Economics, Management, Literature, Education, Philosophy, Arts and Law.
-Or the previous degree was instructed in Chinese.

9.Certificate of Non-criminal Record
A certificate issued by the police station or law enforcement agency certifying that you have no previous criminal record.
Note: All application documents must be in Chinese or English edition. Documents issued in the third language should be translated in Chinese or English editions.

The registration fee, tuition fee, and others will be conducted according to student exchange agreements.

Insurance and Allowance
Compulsory: |
Health Insurance We strongly recommend all our exchange students purchase statutory/international health insurance before their arrival at HUST. The insurance shall cover the whole duration of your stay in China. For the students who are unable to purchase international health insurance in their home countries, HUST will recommend insurance for them to purchase during the registration period. The Insurance Premium is around RMB400 per semester. |

HUST would like to seek funding to cover the living expenses for our excellent exchange students recommended by our partner universities. |

City and weather: |
Wuhan is the capital city of Hubei Province and has been recognized as the economic, financial, cultural, education and transportation center of central China. It covers an area of 8,494 square kilometers and nurtures a population of 12.22 million. Wuhan is a subtropical monsoon humid climate area with abundant rainfall and sunshine. There are four distinct seasons in Wuhan, maximum temperature could be up to 38℃ in July while the lowest temperature is -3℃ in January. |

Fees: |
The payment of exchange students shall be subject to the terms of the agreement between the two universities. Exchange students will enjoy application wavier from HUST. |
