Główny kampus początkowo znany był jako INTI University College do 31 maja 2010 r., kiedy to Ministerstwo Szkolnictwa Wyższego ogłosiło podniesienie statusu do uniwersytetu.
Należy ona do INTI Education Group, która sformalizowała swoje partnerstwo z Laureate International Universities w 2008 r. i zakończyła je w 2020 r.
W 2020 r. Hope Education Group (Hongkong) sfinalizowała przejęcie INTI Education Group, ustanawiając INTI Education Group swoim pierwszym kampusem offshore.
