In this two-week-program, you discover how distributed ledger technologies like Bitcoin and Ethereum work, explore their real-world applications, and gain hands-on experience by coding your own decentralized solutions using modern tools. Also, you explore cutting-edge methods in machine learning and computer vision using Python and PyTorch, apply deep learning to medical imaging, and develop your own ML solution in a hands-on project.

The program blends lectures, discussions, and programming exercises, giving you profound knowledge and hands-on skills in distributed ledger and blockchain technologies as well as machine learning development. Expect a diversified schedule with interactive sessions and teamwork, plus opportunities to network with international peers and visit local companies. The summer school is ideal for Bachelor's or Master's students in computer science, information systems, data science, or related fields. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate with 6 ECTS credits.

The summer school takes place from 10th–14th August 2026 and 17th–21st August 2026 and will be held in English entirely at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg. It also includes time to discover Regensburg's charming medieval center, which was declared a World Heritage by UNESCO, and further German and European cities.

• The fee of 250 for EU-students includes:
  • Tuition for 42 contact hours of academic instruction (one contact hour = 45 minutes)
  • Course materials (digitally provided)
  • Use of campus facilities (e.g. library (use of media in the central library, digital media), cafeteria, computer pools)
  • Curriculum-integrated company visits
  • Issuance of official certificates with microcredential and ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits upon successful completion
• The fee excludes:
  • Airfare and other travel to/from Regensburg
  • Accommodation
  • Meals and other personal expenses
  • Local public transportation (e.g. "Deutschlandticket")
  • Optional cultural excursions (e.g. guided city tour, boat trip) and associated entry fees
  • Health and travel insurance

 There are no on-site accommodation opportunities at our campus.
